DescriptionAs an Incoming Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for validating the quality of purchased raw materials and incoming products by conducting receiving inspections. Quality plays a critical role in elevating the performance of the total company by identifying opportunities for improvement in both processes and people and then working closely with leaders and teammates across the organization to take action to make things better each day (systems, processes, people).This is an entry-level position within the Quality department.Compensation: $21-24 depending on experience.Duties and Responsibilities:Safety #1 – complies with all safety rules and guidelines set forth by UPM and OSHA.Perform first piece, in-process, and final dimensional and visual inspections, on a variety of complex precision machined parts ensuring compliance with all internal manufacturing instructions and customer specifications using a variety of inspection tools; calipers, micrometers, flatness gauges, etc.Document all inspection results consistent with company procedures and customer requirements and issue non-conformances and/or quality notifications for discrepant conditions as required.Inspect and verify the quality and quantity of received materials, parts, or products against purchase orders and specifications.Conduct dimensional and visual inspections using tools like calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring equipment.Maintain accurate records of incoming inspections in accordance with quality control procedures.Collaborate with engineering, purchasing, and quality departments to address and resolve quality issues with incoming goods.Notify relevant teams about non-conforming materials and incoming product.Support all manufacturing concerns in a timely mannerSet-up gages for floor inspectionFollow tag systemFill out, stamp and sign Quality InspectionsLog and file quality recordsCarry out all other duties as assignedPreferred Experience:Familiarity with office and warehouse environmentsBasic knowledge of Aerospace specificationsMaterial handling experience, using a Forklift and Overhead CraneMust possess the ability to use and operate the following equipment and tools: Coil Cart, Micrometer, Calipers, Scale, Bander, Bander Cutters, Side Loader1-2 year Quality related experience and/or trainingEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
