Job Description:
Squarepoint Services US LLC seeks a full-time Quantitative Researcher for its New York, NY location. Duties: On behalf of an investment management firm, formulate mathematical models for investment strategies based on independent quantitative analysis. Identify suitable objective functions for fitting parameters to enhance trading strategies. Implement and use computer algorithms to solve resulting optimization problems. Employ mathematical models and statistical techniques, including regression analysis, machine learning algorithms, and statistical inference, and apply financial knowledge and computer skills to enhance investment strategies for futures and other asset classes. Utilize understanding of options and volatility surfaces to implement and improve trading strategies. Use knowledge of market structure to model and analyze market impact and control trading costs of systematic futures and FX trading strategies. Pitch new trading ideas to senior management. Perform sophisticated analyses to reveal previously unknown statistical effects, assess their robustness, and implement systematic strategies to monetize such effects. Perform testing and validation of both simulation and live trading applications. Build applications utilizing Shell scripts and Python to automate daily routines for processing data in support of trading strategies. Utilize KDB/Q and Python to analyze existing strategy behavior and propose and implement improvements. Requirements: Minimum of Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in any Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Mathematics (STEM) field of study and at least two (2) years of experience as a Quantitative Researcher, or a related occupation for a financial services/investment management/investment banking organization. Must have at least two (2) years of employment experience with each of the following required skills: (1) Developing and maintaining portfolio optimization methodology for futures/fx long/short portfolios using knowledge of futures market, convex optimization techniques and coding; (2) Designing alphas in futures and FX space using machine learning, numerical simulations, and optimizations; (3) Improving and maintaining research and production framework utilizing understanding of the futures market and using, C++, Python, and kdb programming languages; (4) Supervising junior researchers for research in futures and FX market; (5) Monitoring of FX and futures trading. Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: : $185,000 Salary / Rate Maximum/yr : $205,000 The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate.
