Sumitomo Electric Carbide, Inc. (SCI), a Sumitomo Electric Group company, is looking for a Quotations Assistant in Mt. Prospect, IL. The position is responsible for a variety of customer service and administrative activities in our Mt. Prospect, IL office.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesThis positionis responsible for customer service and administrative support activities for the quotation function, including coordinating product pricing and quotation; and for processing orders for samples and trunk stock.Provides Customer Support: Communicating with customers on the phone, answering questions related to products, services, and quotation, and conveying messages to the appropriate parties; performs any other duties as directed by management.Prepares Quotes: By communicating regularly with sales staff, manufacturers, and customers; by working with sales staff and manufacturers to create proposals or quotes; by providing requested information and documentation to Sales Staff as scheduled; and by generating and archiving quotations, proposals, and other documents in accordance with Company procedures.Provides Administrative Support: By maintaining the filing system; by processing orders for samples and trunk stock; and by performing any other duties as directed by management.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GEDSix months to one year of general office work experienceAbility to communicate verbally and in writing to individuals and groups in English.Basic math - addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and calculating percentagesAbility to apply knowledge and common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Must be able to use a computer and applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.About Sumitomo Electric Carbide, Inc.One of the largest carbide manufacturers in the world, Sumitomo Electric Carbide, Inc.
