In this role, you will lead and contribute to the development and validation of manufactured products using alternative materials. This position involves designing and executing technical projects, collaborating with production and engineering teams, and driving innovation to support the company's growth and market expansion. Key Success Attributes
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience in designing, developing, analyzing, and troubleshooting within the pulp and paper industry, preferably in a startup environment.
- Project Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead technical projects focused on product development, including trial design and execution based on data analysis.
- Procedure Development: Strong skills in developing and implementing procedures, with the ability to train and guide team members effectively.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Ability to work seamlessly with production, engineering, and leadership teams to drive product innovation and operational efficiencies.
- Adaptability: Experience working in both high-paced startup settings and mature industries, with a keen understanding of different operational mindsets and requirements.
- Problem Solver: Proactively identifies and addresses issues, driving solutions independently while valuing input from team members and stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry, or a related field. MS Degree preferred.
- Extensive experience in process engineering, preferably in the pulp and paper industry or similar sectors.
- Proven track record in plant startups, including designing and implementing process changes in manufacturing environments.
- Ability to interpret complex scientific data and translate it into actionable strategies for production and leadership teams.
- Experience in the insulation, pulp & paper, or building products industries -or- a background in CleanTech or other venture-driven environments preferred.
