Compensation: $100,000-$120,000 per yearRole Overview:

We are lookingfor a talented R&D Tax Credit Manager to come on board and be the next R&D leader.

Reporting to the Director of R&D Tax Credit, you will have the opportunity to leverage our custom technology platform driven by Artificial Intelligence and make an impact in the R&D Tax world. Our goal is to help Managers find ways to grow professionally and shape them into the R&D leaders of tomorrow. Working alongside our senior R&D leaders, you will expand your knowledge on US, UK, Puerto Rico and Canadian R&D Tax Credits and be a people manager. Training will be provided for jurisdictions outside the US.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the preparation and execution of client engagements, as it relates to R&D tax credit incentive claims.
  • Initiate internal communication regarding status of tasks, relevant technical issues discovered, status of workload, expected due dates, project management, etc.
  • Gather, format, and analyze large volumes of accounting cost data; and create large complex calculation databases using Microsoft Excel and/or Microsoft Access.
  • Mentor and train R&D Tax Associates and Senior Associates by sharing best practices and R&D tax knowledge.
  • Assist with drafting opinion letters, responses to IRS inquiries, IRS Ruling requests, and writing other technical memoranda.
  • Participate in the research of thought leadership materials and credit related webinars.
  • Develop a strong understanding of client's business and become the “lead functional expert” in the area.
  • Develop a strong rapport with clients and maintain a good relationship with key departments across the business: Product, Customer Success, Sales, Marketing, etc.

What You Will Need to Succeed:

  • 4+ years of work experience in R&D Tax Credits, either at a public or boutique accounting firm.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or Engineering.
  • Comfortable overseeing a team and providing training, feedback, and supervision to junior R&D employees.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and legal/technical tax code research tools.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Natural curiosity – People leaders with a growth mindset.
  • Ability to succeed in a less structured tax consulting environment – Everyone is all-hands-on deck.
  • Higher education driven – Masters, CPA, JD, or EA are all big pluses.
