OVERVIEW:
The Regional Nurse will be responsible for the provision of expert advice and oversight to facility management personnel and line staff to ensure that systems are maintained toeffectively and efficiently operate the facility in a manner to safely meet residents' needs in compliance with federal, state and local requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Evaluate regulatory compliance and determine clinical education needs for our clients as it relates to pharmacy servicesConduct quality assurance audits to aid clients with preparation for successful, compliant state surveysIdentify and provide recommendations regarding deficiencies and opportunities around drug inventories, storage, and distributionEvaluate facility compliance to clinical policy, procedure, and careVisit facilities weekly for intervention, audit and trainingProvide Quality Reviews and other nursing consultant servicesDeliver ongoing clinical training to facility staffManage resolution of client issues and requestsAssist with activities associated in onboarding new facilities such as collection of resident information and medical records; scheduling, attending, and some facilitation of facility staff training; informing pharmacy of facility needs; serving as single point of contact for facility throughout onboarding processOperate with strong business acumen and industry knowledge, remaining conscious of industry trendsAssist in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) process
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 3 years of recent nursing experience in a Long-Term Care setting (SNF) or Long-Term Care Surveyor experiencePrevious Director of Nursing and/or Nurse Consulting experience is required.Previous multi-facility experience requiredA current, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in State of practiceRecent clinical experience, education, or specialty skills specific to geriatricsOngoing pursuit of Continuing Education Credits in clinical subjects, management, personal growth and developmentDemonstrate working knowledge of infection control principles and practicesKnowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations and guidelines that pertain to long-term careEffective interpersonal skills and the ability to work with an interdisciplinary care teamAbility to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, and policies and procedures that are necessary for providing quality careCapable of researching new methods and principles to incorporate them into existing nursing practicesMust maintain current CPR/AED certificationExperience with Microsoft Office Suite with a focus on Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and Web applications
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in a health care setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the care center. Incumbent may be exposed to virus, disease and infection from patients and specimens in working environment. Incumbent may be required to work extended periods of time at a video display terminal.Incumbent may experience traumatic situations, including psychiatric, and deceased patients.Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessaryMust be able to stay or return to facility during emergency conditions
