Job Description Racquet Sports Professional (Part Time)Reports to: Director of Racquet Sports, Assistant Director of Racquet SportsFLSA Status: Hourly/Non-ExemptRequired work days: Thursdays, SundaysJob Tasks/Duties
- Plans and directs instructional programs with specialization in pickleball with Directors of Racquet Sports approval
- Provides lessons and clinics for members and guests relating to the techniques and strategies of tennis and pickleball.
- Administers and enforces club tennis policies and procedures regarding play on club courts.
- Strings rackets and performs other light equipment repairs.
- Coordinates maintenance, repair, and cleaning of courts.
- Ensures that all club members and guests receive courteous, prompt and professional attention to all their tennis/pickleball needs.
- Markets pickleball facilities to members and guests.
- Maintains a close working relationship with other club professionals.
- Maintains accurate records of all lessons and clinics given; provides weekly written reports.
- Inspects and maintains all physical areas constantly.
RequirementsEssential Requirements & Qualifications Must have a valid Florida Driver's License.
- Two-to-three-year competitive playing experience and/or tennis supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of court maintenance.
- Certification with RSPA or PPR required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment This position includes (long periods of) standing, walking, running, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling and repetitive motions. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds. Must have the ability to work in hot and muggy conditions on a continuous basis.
- Ability to maintain rallies during instruction or matches with inexperienced players.
- Sufficient stamina to tolerate hot and humid outdoor weather for several consecutive hours.
- Frequent use of court maintenance machinery.
