Job Summary and QualificationsThe Radiology Technician provides high quality, patient-centered care by performing a
variety of radiographic procedures and related techniques to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Under the supervision of
a licensed physician, the Radiology Tech provides appropriate patient care in accordance with established protocols to
promote positive patient outcomes.
Prepares patients for exams and procedures. Assesses patient condition prior to and during all radiologic procedures.
· Sets up and operates a variety of radiography equipment, imaging and/or associated accessories. Ensures adherence to all safe radiation protection measures for staff and patients, as defined by hospital guidelines.
· Prepares and administers radiopaque contrast media needed for radiologic exams.
· Remains available during procedures to provide prompt responses to the needs of doctors or patients.
· Detects adverse symptomology relating to radiation use or contrast related problems and communicates patient status to care team as needed.
· Communicates patient status to care team as needed.
· Documents procedures promptly and accurately, using approved policies and procedures.
· Complies with adverse incident reporting system.
· Follows Standard Precautions, using personal protective equipment as required.
· Performs required maintenance on instruments, supplies and equipment, in accordance with the specified cleaning, storage and calibration procedures.
· Maintains sufficient supplies for immediate availability during procedures.
· Assists with preparing the OR or procedural suites based on physician card preferences.
· Maintains a patient-first philosophy and engages in service recovery when necessary.
· Demonstrates ability to establish effective working relationships with patients, physicians, and co-workers.
· Participates in employee orientation, training, education programs, performance improvement and quality control activities and initiatives.
· Seeks opportunities to affect the growth of the organization by promoting excellence in patient experience and providing high quality care to the patients served.
· Assists staff management by floating to other areas as needed.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
· Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” and “Mission and Value Statement.”
What qualifications you will need:Graduate from an accredited imaging program Required
• 1+ years applicable experience Preferred
• Operating room experience Preferred
