GENERAL SUMMARY/BASIC PURPOSE OF JOB: To provide safe quality patient care on a timely basis Provides excellent communication to patients in order to acquire images and radiation treatment in an efficient professional manner Provides quality Radiation Therapy treatments and imaging utilizing appropriate protocols, reproducible setups, quality plans and patient cooperation for treatment purposes, as directed by the radiation oncologist Perform Quality Assurance, prepare and operate CT and treatment equipment and is able to position patients correctly and effectively, record the requested setup and document Provide a safe environment by screening all patients, family members and personnel entering the radiation therapy unit Provides radiation safety screening and education to the patients, patient's family and caregivers Fulfills all obligations in establishing American College of Radiology Oncology Radiation Therapy (ACRO) Accreditation
JOB REQUIREMENTS: MINIMUM EDUCATION: An Associate's degree from an American Medical Association approved course in Radiologic Technology MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE: 6 months experience as a Radiation Therapy Technologist KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Excellent customer service and communication skills Knowledge of Radiation Therapy quality per American College of Radiology Oncology standards REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS: ARRT IN RADIOLOGY AND RADIATION THERAPY CPR
