Summary:The Leading Niche is looking for a Radio Operator/Linguist (RO/L) to join our team supporting the El Paso Intelligence Center (EPIC). EPIC plays a pivotal role in conducting investigations and interdiction operations by rapidly analyzing and disseminating intelligence related to illicit drugs and drug trafficking, illegal immigration, weapons and bulk currency smuggling, and transnational crime, including terrorism.RO/Ls play a vital role in monitoring, translating, interpreting, and reporting on HF/VHF/UHF type radio communications, ensuring the flow of critical information to support law enforcement operations.Required Skills and Responsibilities:
- Radio Communications Monitoring: Monitor HF/VHF/UHF type radio communications to gather vital intelligence.
- Real-Time Translation: Perform real-time translation of intercepted communications from Spanish to English.
- SIGINT Data Analysis: Collect, interpret, analyze, and report Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) data.
- Report Generation: Write intelligence reports, summary reports, and notes as needed, contributing to tactical and strategic intelligence efforts.
- Data Logging: Maintain daily logs, frequency scan logs, and reports to ensure comprehensive records of intercepted communications.
- Data Entry and Verification: Enter information into program databases managed by EPIC, ensuring accuracy and completeness; and verify all keyed data entry for quality control.
- Database Management: Perform comparisons of documents with databases and conduct on-line/electronic updates, verifications, and creation of new records.
- Computer Proficiency: Input data using a computer keyboard, laptop, or other computer technology devices supplied by EPIC; efficiently type and manage data.
- Deployment Readiness: Be prepared to travel on temporary duty deployments to remote foreign and domestic locations, possibly with less than 24 hours notice.
RequirementsMust have: Active Secret Clearance
- Experience & Education:
- No degree, with 3 years of experience in communication intercept operations and the demonstrated ability and skills to speak, read, and write Spanish and English on a real-time basis.
- Associate or bachelor's degree, with 1 year of experience in communication intercept operations and the demonstrated ability and skills to speak, read, and write Spanish and English on a real-time basis.
- Language Proficiency: Must have a Spanish language proficiency level of 3/3+.
- Additional Skills:
- Ability to understand crypto-analysis, radio propagation, a basic understanding of antenna theory, and a working knowledge of the geography and topography of the Western Hemisphere.
- Efficient keyboard and/or laptop computer typing skills are essential.
