PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Ensure compliance with regulations for shipping and receiving of radioactive materials, as well as maintenance of associated records.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Oversee radioactive material shipments and paperwork, including inspections and authorizations.
- Perform curie content calculations, classification of radwaste shipments, and 10CFR61 analysis.
- Stay updated on industry changes in radioactive shipping regulations and guidelines.
- Complete other assignments as directed by the Technical Support Manager.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- BS degree in health physics or related science with 3 years' radiation protection experience OR equivalent experience and training.
- Successful completion of radwaste shipping training classes or ability to complete within 6 months of hire date.
- Strong written and oral communicative skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Successful completion of NRRPT or CHP certification.
- Prior qualification as a Radwaste shipper.
