A well-known hospital in New York City is currently seeking a new Radiographer to join their growing Radiology Diagnostic team. In this role, the Radiographer will be responsible for assisting a radiologist with advanced preparation and testing to administrative tasks, such as organizing work schedules and maintaining patient records.
About the Opportunity:
- Assignment Length: 13-week
- Schedule: 5 shifts per week
- Hours: 8-hour shifts
- Setting: Acute Care
- EMR: EPIC
Responsibilities:
- Review exam orders, consult with the Radiologist, schedule patients and arrange for transportation, as indicated
- Identify patient and document all information pertinent to final report in the RIS and PACS
- Prepare ail patients for radiological procedures requested by the Clinician
- Instruct technical staff and Radiologic Technology students in routine, special positions and procedures
- Perform diagnostic x-rays on patients
- Perform daily checks of imaging equipment, immobilization devices and other necessary accessories.
- Report any unexpected patient incidents in accordance with the occurrence report protocol.
- Maintain and exercise all mandated radiation safety regulations.
- Perform other duties as deemed necessary in the event of emergencies or disaster
- Ensure all examinations are accessioned, documented in RIS and all images are sent and reviewed in PACS
- Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications :
- 1+ year of related work experience
- Valid license and current registration to practice Diagnostic Radiography as a Radiologic Technologist issued by the NYSDOH
- ARRT certification in Radiography required
