- Four - 9 hour shifts, Monday - Friday
- On call, one weeknight and every 4 weekends
Position Summary:
Performs a wide variety of interventional procedures for Heart and Vascular and assists Radiologists, Cardiologists, and nurses in providing quality patient care during interventional procedures. This position is responsible for production of high quality diagnostic radiographs and / or imaging as well as intraprocedural scrub.
What the Radiologic Technologist - Interventional will do:
- Assists Radiologists and Nurses in the performance of invasive procedures.
- Produces diagnostic radiographs/imaging.
- Assesses patient condition to determine appropriate technique.
- Administers medication and barium solutions.
- Oversees the maintenance and repair of interventional equipment.
- Participates in testing and selecting new equipment and products.
- Performs a variety of support functions, including scheduling patients, processing films, filing records and reports, monitoring supply inventory, cleaning equipment, and quality assurance and control.
- Communicates examination results to physician and patient.
- Provides instruction and training to students and new staff.
- Prepares examination room for procedures and performs post-procedure clean up.
- Explains procedures to patients, investigating and resolving patient complaints.
What the Radiologic Technologist - Interventional will need:
- Associate's degree from American Registry Radiologic Technology (ARRT) program.
- Registered Technologist or registry- eligible with registry completed within one year of hire.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Preferred: two years of experience as a Radiologic Technician/ Radiology Technologist, working in a hospital radiology department with exposure to invasive procedures.
- Preferred: IR or Cath Lab experience
