Join the UPMC Imaging professional team at a Top 10 National Pediatric Hospital System! \n UPMC Children's Hospital is hiring part-time Radiology Technologists to join the Diagnostic Radiology team at our Children's Hospital Satellite and Express Care locations! \n We are offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus to eligible hires for a 2-year work commitment! Candidates with more than 1 year of experience are eligible for a $7,500 sign-on bonus for a 2-year work commitment, as well!\n The Radiology Technologists will work 20 hours per week, with several shift options available! This role can work 12-hour, 10-hour, 8-hour, and 5-hour shifts! There also may be opportunities to work shorter shifts, as well. \n The Radiology Techs will work between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with no major holidays or overnight shifts required! Rotating weekend hours will be included in coverage, with locations open from 12 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Saturdays and from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Sundays. \n Children's Hospital locations include Children's North in Wexford, Children's South in Bridgeville, Children's East in Monroeville, Children's West in Moon, Children's Express Care in Cranberry (UPMC Lemieux Center) and Children's West Mifflin. The Radiology Techs will have a home location based on their address, and will travel to select additional local sites up to 50% of the time. \n The Radiology Diagnostic Tech performs imaging procedures at a technical level, not requiring constant supervision. This role competently performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. \n Free parking at all locations! \n \n Why UPMC Children's Hospital? Imaging supports these efforts while bolstering employees' career growth, with numerous career path options that are built for our employees to succeed. \n \n Responsibilities: \n\nIdentifies all patients properly by using two patient identifiers and utilizes universal protocol when performing procedures. \nReviews patient history and assesses physician orders, applying specific departmental protocols for optimal results in the acquisition of data. \nDocuments patient history in electronic record, as required. \nAdministers PO and contrast per physician orders/department policy. \nEnsures all exams within his/her area of responsibility are properly coded and tracked through RIS system, all exams are properly networked to ISITE for archiving and interpretation, and all charges are adequately entered for the exams performed. \nPerforms diagnostic radiography procedures utilizing established protocols/procedures without requiring constant supervision. \nUtilizes complex imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, manipulation, and documentation of image data and completes procedures according to protocol. \nDemonstrates a strong ability to interact with both patients and co-workers, while displaying a high level of caring, listening, dignity, and respect. \nDisplays the ability to work as team member within the department and all other departments to expedite patient care efficiently. \nPerforms a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgement to adjust protocols and shows initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation appropriately for diagnostic radiography purposes. \nDemonstrates the ability to communicate instructions to patients in a clear and concise manner and explain procedures to help allay the patient's fears and solicit their cooperation. \n\nGraduate of an ARRT-approved school of Radiologic Technology or verification from ARRT-approved school of completion of program and scheduled graduation date.\nTechnologists hired before graduation will have indirect supervision by an ARRT certified diagnostic technologist until the degree is verified.\n\n Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:ARRT Registry eligible as a Radiologic Technologist. Must obtain radiography registry within 12 months of hire date. CPR or BLS Required.
