Job Description:
The person in this position is primarily responsible for providing daily support for rail operations for North America which encompasses the movement of approximately 2 million tons annually via railroad supplied cars and the management of a private fleet of approximately 1,500 rail cars. Daily support for CMP rail operations includes responsibilities for managing rail car flows in/out of plants, in/out of storage, and handling customer inquiries, processing rail equipment transactions, and collaborating with sales and plants. Additionally, the logistics rail specialist provides back up for the other key members of the rail team, performing a wide range of operational duties and will work closely with the rail fleet manager and rail operations manager to ensure daily coverage. This role reports to the Manager Rail Operations. Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: (Management reserves the right to add or modify the duties and responsibilities at any time.)- Generating an integrated car flow status report (daily) using rail tools such as Rail Link, Transentric, Union Pacific, Burlington Northern, other rails- Code & Key rail car repair bills to both maintenance history and E1 for payment.- Maintains and inputs accurate rate entry for rail rate sheets and logistics trucking needs.- Reconcile and code/approve rail freight invoices and dispute invoices as needed.- Assists Rail Operations manager by coordinating car movements to/from storage, diversions, maintenance, overages, claims and other atypical car flows such as bad orders, mis-routes and expedited cars. - Assists Rail Fleet Manager to coordinate rail car repairs, manage diversion requests with Lessor's to shops, and ordering rail cars. - Focal point for shipping transaction support including OTM for Rail, shipping on rail website when needed, and general process and correspondence from plants or customers. - Generates reports, and scorecards for rail and logistics services.- Light duties on weekends and evening support are occasionally needed.- Other duties as assigned. Nonexempt (hourly) position, 3% bonus, salary band $41 - $45k
