Location Description The Post Consumer Brands plant in Asheboro, NC is the newest addition to the company's network, featuring some of the most modern cereal production technology in the industry and the facility has quadrupled in size since it opened in 2007. Asheboro's 230+ team members produce some of our newest and most innovative cereals, like Oreo O's cereal! While there is plenty to do right in Asheboro, the town is only a few hours from the Atlantic Ocean in one direction and the Blue Ridge Mountains in the other direction. Responsibilities Why You Want to Work at Post Starting Pay $25.50/hour + $1 night shift differential 3 weeks PTO for new hires Target 7.5% annual bonus target Free take-home cereal Tuition assistance Wellness program with quarterly cash payout PPE provided or reimbursed by the company Uniforms provided and cleaned by the company (401k) with 6% match Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and Disability benefits Work Schedule 5:30 PM - 5:50 AM 2-2-3 schedule with in built-in overtime and every other weekend off Week one: 2 days on - 2 days off - 3 days on Week two: 2 days off - 2 days on - 3 days off Responsibilities Unload bulk dry & bulk liquid commodities delivered by railcar or tanker truck. Load trailers and tankers with dry, wet, or liquid waste. Operate the track mobile to move railcars in the rail yard. Operate the yard switcher to move waste trailers and tankers. Operate propane forklift as needed. Effectively communicate with select external waste customers and maintenance service providers. Assist warehouse with deliveries requiring outside forklift if needed. Assist warehouse with moving trailers to/from dock doors if needed. Be able to disassemble, clean and reassemble product transfer lines as needed, including cleaning in place (CIP) systems. Performs physical inventory on railcar and storage bins per defined frequency. Perform physical and security safety audits per defined frequency. Perform inspections of unload and storage equipment components per defined frequency. Ensures operations within assigned unit are efficient and meet assigned targets. Maintains and demonstrates a high level of technical understanding regarding individual process and impact on yield, inventory accuracy, and availability. Identifies, corrects, and documents equipment performance conditions that negatively impact safety, quality, rate, yield, and uptime. Actively participates in root cause analysis and drives corrective actions through resolution. Supports, directs, and performs autonomous maintenance tasks accurately and on time. Records accurate data required for measuring overall performance of the department. Identifies and drives measurable continuous improvement opportunities. Participates in all related programs improving product quality, efficiency, and related preventative maintenance programs. Supports, implements, and maintains food safety and quality practices as required through SQF or other requirements. Maintains clean work areas, performs sanitation audits, and develops action plans to correct problem areas. Provide training and coaching to other employees learning new equipment, processes and/or procedures. Participates in special projects, assignments, and training. Maintains the proper level of certification according to tenure of position. Assists in other areas of the plant upon request. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. 1-2 years of manufacturing or related experience is a plus. Intermediate level mechanical knowledge including the ability to learn and operate all related Material Handling equipment including Forklifts, Scissor lifts, Articulated Boom Lift, Lull Lift, ATV, Switcher Truck and Track mobile. Ability to utilize local WMS/Krober, Cimplicity and COSMOS computer systems, and the Norfolk Southern web-based system. Ability to analyze data and determine root cause of inventory errors and implement corrective actions. Ability to follow detailed work instructions. Ability to provide work direction to ensure efficiency across the assigned unit. Ability to recognize opportunities to drive improved line performance through continuous improvement. Basic math and computer skills. Ability to use basic hand and power tools. Ability to work within a team environment and build positive professional relationships. Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form in English. Ability to problem solve and deal with a variety of variables in situations where standardizations/alternatives may or may not exist. Ability to work with exposure to cold or hot & humid environments, outside weather, heights up to 30 ft., elevated catwalks & platforms, working on ladders. Ability to work scheduled shifts, standing, kneeling, climbing, and walking for extended periods of the day; capable of repetitive gripping, pinching, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling with weight ranges up to 100 pounds; perform repeated twisting, bending, and reaching of upper and lower extremities.
