Role Purpose Statement The Ramp Safety Clerk is responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of aircraft on the ramp. This role involves monitoring ramp activities, conducting safety inspections, and implementing procedures to prevent accidents and injuries. By prioritizing safety and compliance, the Ramp Safety Clerk plays a crucial role in maintaining a secure and operational airport environment.
Main Accountabilities - Conduct regular inspections of ramp equipment, facilities, and aircraft to identify potential hazards.
- Monitor compliance with safety regulations and procedures.
- Report any safety violations or incidents to appropriate authorities.
- Observe ramp activities to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Monitor aircraft movement and ground operations.
- Coordinate with ramp personnel to ensure smooth and safe operations.
- Respond to accidents, incidents, or emergencies on the ramp.
- Provide immediate assistance to injured personnel or damaged equipment.
- Coordinate with emergency response teams as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, and safety violations.
- Prepare reports and documentation as required.
- Assist in conducting safety training for ramp personnel.
- Promote a safety-conscious culture among ramp employees.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience - High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in aviation or a related field is preferred.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical fitness to perform duties on the ramp, including standing, walking, and lifting.
