DescriptionPOSITION DESCRIPTION: The role of the Accounts Payable Clerk shall be to oversee the day-to-day functions of their assigned accounts or vendors. An A/P Clerk will maintain a close working relationship with all district managers, complex managers, shipping managers, all PO requesters, all PO receivers, and all the purchasing department staff to ensure timely payments are made to vendors. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Handle and maintain assigned accounts or vendors.
  • Enter and maintain invoices for assigned accounts or vendors.
  • The handling & resolution of invoice discrepancies with assigned vendors and other Rose Acre personnel.
  • Pull and match checks for vendors when payment is made.
  • Run and print checks for the day(s) assigned to you.
  • Answer calls or inquiries courteously and professionally for assigned accounts or vendors.
  • Returning calls in a timely manner.
  • Match commodity checks on the day(s) assigned to you.
  • Separate checks and copies, along with preparing them to be mailed on the day(s) assigned to you.
  • File copies of checks & backup when assigned.
  • Run requested reports pertaining to your particular assigned accounts or vendors.
  • Help prepare & transfer all files from previous years' storage area to current years' storage area.
  • Display teamwork to get work done when another team member in the department is absent.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
  • Minimum of a high school degree; an Associate's Degree in Business, Accounting, or some related field is preferred.
  • Must be a well-rounded person, open to new ideas, and have the desire to learn new things.
  • Must be able to adapt to new situations easily and work independently.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to communicate with supervisor.
  • Ability to treat co-workers with respect and courtesy.
  • Ability to deal with customers professionally.
  • Good decision making skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Must possess the ability to work in an agricultural environment, indoors, outdoors, office, warehouse, processing, and farm production areas each varying in temperature, and other environment specific atmospheres.
  • Must be willing and able to work past the scheduled leave time to complete the job, if needed.
  • Must possess the ability to work in an open office setting.
  • Must maintain professionalism with coworkers.
