**Description**

**SUMMARY:** The Rapid Response Assembler performs basic assembly operations on one or more similar non-complex sub assemblies using simple hand tools and mechanical assembly equipment. They will assemble electronic components, sub assemblies, products, or systems by performing specifically outlined duties.

* Reads work orders, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.

* Core Builder Process - Performs basic assembly operations on one or more similar non-complex sub assemblies using simple hand tools and mechanical assembly equipment.

* Pasting Process - Builds assemblies or combines parts and sub assemblies to form higher level assemblies using hand tools and simple mechanical equipment.

* Secondary Assembly Process - Performs basic assembly operations and/or simple preparations, modifications and inspections on one or more similar assemblies and sub assemblies.

* Electrical Testing Process - Performs electronic tests such as flash, capacitance, insertion loss, auto test, on assemblies and sub assemblies, to insure part meet tolerance levels and function according to specifications.

* Mechanical/Visual Inspection Process - Performs mechanical/visual tests such as gauging and measuring on assemblies and sub assemblies to insure parts meet tolerance levels and function according to specifications.

* Packing/Shipping Process - Packs completed products with work documentation according to customer specification and standard packing procedures.

* Performs on-line go-not-go testing and inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and standards.

* Maintains record of work progress: Records results of job and/or problems with job in work documentation. Verifies quantity of lot by hand counting or weigh counting using standard scales.

**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:** This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

* Periodically assists in other production areas at the discretion of the Unit Manager or Supervisor.

* In order to be qualified to solder; training must be accomplished. Records of training and qualification must be maintained as a quality record.

**MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:**

* High School Diploma or equivalent

AND

* One (1) to Three (3) months of related experience

OR

* Equivalent combination of education and experience

**CERTIFICATES/LICENSES:** None required.

**OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:**

* Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally life and /or move up to 25 pounds with assistance if necessary.

* Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.

* Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

* Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
