They will take a leadership position at all times in the areas concerning Safety, Quality, Yield, Housekeeping, and Productivity. The Raw Material Coordinator will be expected to have a working knowledge of barge/rail scrap inspection/offloading and placement in scrap yard. Track demurrage for barges, coordinate the processing and shipment of secondary materials, update the scrap pile location road map. Track percentage usage of the scrap mix. Responsible for the coordination/communication to help scrap yard operators understand and execute strategic plan on scrap mix. Responsible for coordinating with maintenance and operations to ensure repairs are being completed on rail mount Komatsu and scale cars, coordinate offloading, placement, and inspection (check and file certs) of alloys. Inspecting the alloy storage buildings and responsible for bulk alloy surveys by the month and year-end. In addition, they will be responsible for tracking received and used scrap and tracking of scrap inventory and cost. Scrap yard maintenance, creation, and monitoring of scrap mix at the EAFs. Responsible for communicating issues with scrap suppliers. Assist in preparation of plan for scrap buy. Responsible for scrap grading of barge/rail/ truck and creating scrap mixes used at the EAFs using percentages set forth by the VIU model and availability. Oversee recycling and sale of non-ferrous materials generated onsite. This position may work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.Minimum Requirements:3 years of experience in scrap management or electric arc furnace operationsDetailed Selection Criteria:Accountability/Dependability: Displays responsibility and reliability with work habits and has ability to hold others accountable for desired results.Attention to Detail.
