Job DetailsJob LocationMain Plant - San Jose, CAPosition TypeFull TimeSalary Range$28.00 - $30.00 HourlyDescriptionThe NOW Program provides case management, evaluation, employment training, and placement services to individuals with criminal backgrounds in Santa Clara County. The NOW program offers immediate job training so that participants can receive supervision and case management daily in preparation for regular employment. The staff interfaces with all departments within Goodwill to provide 90-day subsidized employment opportunities. We believe the New Opportunity Work Program reduces recidivism through gainful employment. Goodwill of Silicon Valley will offer services which can be efficiently linked with other essential community-based services. Job Responsibilities Responsible for the coordination of referrals from the Reentry Resource CenterMaintain a case load which include:Develop and implement individual supported employment plans and conduct assessments for potential participantsAdvocate on behalf of participants regarding job placement/retentionWork closely with peer mentors and business developers to ensure participant successCoordinates and links services for clients throughout the communityTrack and records client activities, case notes, services, including preparation, filing and maintenance of case filesPerform program intake, conduct assessments, hiring paperwork, and termination paperworkProvide life skills training, job coaching, and supervision to participantsManage client payroll entryCommunicate with Employment Specialists, Peer Mentors, and Site Supervisors to ensure that clients are ready for outside employment and meeting all program requirements.Facilitate Moral Reconation Therapy groupsRepresents Goodwill Industries in the community through participation in appropriate organizations, agencies and groups, and with media.Adheres to all relevant operational and reporting requirements and standards of program contract.Work closely with SCC Probation, CDCR State Parole, SCC Re-Entry Center and CBO's to properly screen and assess potential clients.Responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the management's discretion, formally or informally either orally or in writing. QualificationsRequired Qualifications/Experience Computer literacy and knowledge of MS OfficeExcellent data entry skillsMust possess vehicle, insurance, California Driver's License and excellent driving recordPreferred Qualifications/Experience Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or 2 years of successful experience working with criminal justice populationEquipment Used Computer, telephone, copy and FAX machinesAptitudes/skills/temperament To possess good oral and written communication skills.General learning ability. The work environment is occasionally hectic with occasional high activity, with great emphasis on teamwork.Physical requirements Due to the variety of assignments in this position, a person must stand, bend, kneel, reach forward and overhead.
