Job Description:

Primary Purpose of Position The Reactor Equipment Operator position is an entry-level role in the Operations job family that leads to becoming a licensed Reactor Operator and Senior Reactor Operator. Candidates selected for these positions will undergo one year of initial non-licensed operator training, after which they will assume shift duties on an operations team. This is a shift work position requiring mandatory rotating day and night shifts. Primary Duties and Accountabilities Operating and monitoring nuclear station equipment for the control room Maintaining and controlling nuclear reactor and auxiliary reactor systems Monitoring steam turbine, main generator, and auxiliary turbine generating equipment Performing operations in accordance with administrative procedures and NRC license Responding to plant indicators and alarms, initiating actions as required Participating as a member of the station fire brigade and functioning as fire brigade leader Identifying and correcting deficient conditions through the Corrective Action program Initiating Emergency Plan and implementing tagging and system out-of-service requests Operating station communications equipment as required Minimum Qualifications High school Diploma or GED 2 years of non-generating nuclear power facility experience or a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, or related science program or 43 credit hours of post-secondary education related to math, physics, chemistry, and engineering or 1 year Power Plant Experience Successfully pass BMST and POSS tests
