Position Type: TutorsDate Posted: 10/28/2024Location: Ledyard Public SchoolsDate Available: ASAPClosing Date: Open Until FilledLedyard Public Schoolsis seeking a dedicated Elementary School Reading Tutor for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year. Under the supervision of the District MTSS Coordinator and school principal, tutors assist students in achieving student learning objectives by working directly with identified students or groups of students who need support. The successful candidate will possess:
- Content specific knowledge and skills
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated organizational ability
- Attention to detail
- Proven experience working with elementary school age children preferred
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Keep abreast of current theory, research and best practices in reading
- Collect/analyze both formative and summative data under the guidance of the MTSS Coordinator and collaborate with teachers about results for purposes of planning instruction
- Use data to shape instruction
- Provide direct instruction to students who are in a tiered intervention
- Use district programs and protocols to provide instruction for students in tiered interventions
- Participate in MTSS process and share student data and progress towards goals

- Appropriate CT Elementary Teaching Certification (305)
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching the subject area
- Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with administrators, teachers and paraeducators
- Experience with Wilson Fundations Program preferred
- Experience with and/or knowledge of the Science of Reading and/or Structured Literacy preferred
- Experience with and/or knowledge of progress monitoring, such as DIBELS, preferred
- Enthusiasm for teaching and learning
- Valid Motor Vehicle Operator's License
Pay:
- Hourly rate $35.00
- Scheduled for 28.5 hours a week, aligned with the Ledyard Public Schools calendar
