Overview
Title: Ready Mix Plan Maintenance Technician
Location: Houston, TX
Reports to: Plant Maintenance Manager
Salary: $20 - $23 based on experience
Roles & Responsibilities
* Support a culture that promotes safety as a top priority while ensuring compliance with all federal, state and company regulatory policies and procedures.
* Perform routine inspections of plant equipment, including batch plants, conveyors, mixers, and material handling systems.
* Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues and perform necessary repairs.
* Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement timely corrective actions.
* Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure equipment longevity and reduce the likelihood of unplanned breakdowns.
* Repair or replace defective parts, motors, bearings, belts, and other equipment components.
* Weld, fabricate, and modify components as needed for equipment upgrades and repairs.
* Maintain and repair electrical control systems, including Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance work performed, parts used, and equipment status.
* Report potential equipment or safety issues to management.
* Track equipment performance and suggest improvements or upgrades where needed.
* Work closely with plant operator and management to ensure smooth plant operations.
* Assist in coordinating maintenance schedules to minimize production disruption.
* Monitor spare parts inventory and request replacement parts as needed.
* Keep track of tools and maintenance supplies to ensure they are properly stocked and organized.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or its equivalent.
* Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a ready-mix or concrete production environment.
* Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, welding, and mechanical repairs.
* Proficient in reading mechanical and electrical schematics.
* Familiarity with PLCs and automated control systems is a plus.
* Ability to operate welding equipment, power tools, and diagnostic tools.
* Ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues quickly and efficiently.
* Focus on ensuring equipment is functioning correctly and safely.
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure plant operations run smoothly.
* Ability to effectively communicate maintenance needs and issues to management and other team members.
Other Requirements:
Must be willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

The employee must consistently lift and carry items up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift or move items up to 60 pounds. Must be able to frequently climb stairs and ladders. Ability to use vibration tools. May occasionally deal with heights. Must be able to safely maintain 3 points of contact when applicable.
