Summary
The Manager, Real Estate and Asset Management is a key member of the Corporate Development team that will engage with all business units at Travel Centers of America. This individual will collaborate with internal and external business partners to validate TA's real estate strategy. The ideal candidate is a well-rounded real estate professional with experience in commercial real estate and asset management.
Duties and Responsibilities
* Own planning and execution of real estate portfolio management strategy including requirements gathering, financial analysis, lease negotiations/transactions and executive approval.
* Manage ongoing real estate matters such as lease expirations, renewals, condemnations, and various DOT projects.
* Act as a project manager for all DOT takings, easements, or condemnations. Work hand in hand with legal to facilitate the requests internally to help provide the most beneficial outcome possible given the circumstance and impact to the business.
* Collaborate with internal business partners to validate our real estate strategy including lease terminations, consolidations, expansions and renewals.
* Responsible for rental growth strategy and tenant management at all TA owned sites. Market available space, source leads, negotiate LOIs, agreements, and supporting the team with ongoing lease management.
* Effectively communicate expectations, requirements and status of deals to key business partners - both internal and external.
* Assist in the resolution of day to day issues and questions from landlords, AP/AR, business units, Account Managers, Controllership, Design & Delivery, Operations, and other stakeholders
* Provide and support other departments with relevant information for long term capital projects to help ensure feasibility and timeliness of completion.
* Accountable for the day to day performance of the team, providing effective support, motivation, guidance and advice to maximize performance.
* Pro-actively develop effective internal and external working relationships to understand the needs of others and offer advice and solutions to improve ways of working, maximize use of resources and embed learning into the service area where appropriate.
Qualifications
* Bachelor' degree; Advanced degree or MBA is preferred.
* 4+ years of real estate and asset management experience preferred.
* Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem solving skills
* Initiative taker, willing to break down barriers and create opportunities.
