Please review the following job description:

Responsible for conducting and directing compliance risk oversight and Regulatory and Investor Change Management impact assessments of assigned business units and/or functions. Supports compliance risk management activities such as review of bulletins, control execution (i.e. Letter reviews) and completion of questionnaires (i.e. Privacy, BSA/AML) to reasonably ensure compliance with the Enterprise Compliance Management Policy and Framework.

Serve as the subject matter expert on regulatory and investor changes impacting Real Estate Lending (REL), Home Equity (HELOC) and Mortgage Servicing. Analyze, evaluate, and partner with REL to execute compliant processes and controls while considering the inherent and residual risks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintain superior knowledge, in-depth understanding and practical application of past, current and emerging compliance regulations, investor/insurer guidelines, and state laws and how they impact REL processes.

2. Analyze, evaluate, and communicate all impacts from new/updated federal regulations, investor/insurer guidelines, and state laws to REL management, as appropriate.

3. Analyze existing processes and procedures to determine gaps.

4. Maintain good working relationships with REL and partner between Corporate Compliance, Legal and REL Business/Process Owners.

5. Provide regulatory guidance in the planning, developing, and executing of compliance impacted processes

6. Research, provide effective challenge, obtain clarity, track, and analyze questions received from REL that pertain to the Federal regulations, State laws, and Investor/Insurer guidelines.

7. Maintain and/or update various team and REL specific procedure documents annually.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Qualifications:

1. Eight+ years of consumer mortgage industry experience focusing on regulatory compliance in mortgage origination, mortgage servicing, mortgage default, risk management, audit and/or regulatory agency compliance experience with a focus on consumer mortgage lending compliance

2. Bachelor's degree in business, law or equivalent education or industry Compliance certifications (i.e. CRCM) or related training including but not limited to work experience.

3. Ability to assist and provide guidance to department management to ensure processes and controls are implemented and effective.

4. Must have a compliance risk background and possess a strong understanding of the relationship between the consumer Federal regulations, Investor/Insurer guidelines, and State laws impact on Mortgage processes.

5. Must be able to analyze regulatory and investor changes and the impact those changes have on the various departments within Mortgage.

6. Must have the ability to work with management within the organization to provide feedback on risk trends and work together to identify and implement risk mitigation strategies.

7. Must exhibit a keen attention to detail and the ability to quickly comprehend information.

8. Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. - Excel, Power Point, Word, Visio).

9. Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects and deadlines simultaneously.

10. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

11. Excellent organizational, managerial and project management skills

12. Requires minimal direct supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. CRCM or supplemental education and/or experience in consumer compliance in mortgage origination underwriting, mortgage servicing, and mortgage default, including audit, and/or regulatory compliance.

2. Knowledge of the MSP servicing system and overall mortgage servicing processes (Acquisitions/transfers, Customer Service, Escrow Administration, Payments, Payoffs, Investor Reporting, Special Loans, Collections, Loss Mitigation, Foreclosure, Bankruptcy, etc.).

3. Knowledge of the origination system and overall mortgage origination processes (Sales, Processing, Underwriting, and Closing).

4. Knowledge of operation functions, systems, policies and procedures for the assigned area.
