Summary ObjectiveThe purpose of this position is to supervise programs, operations, and activities concerning vacant, abandoned, deteriorating, and other problem properties, including acquisition, foreclosure, demolition, donation, condemnation, and other similar processes. This class works independently, under limited supervision, reporting major activities through periodic meetings.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSThe essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff, processing employee concerns and problems, directing work, counseling, disciplining, and completing employee performance appraisals.Coordinates, assigns and reviews work and establishes work schedules; maintains standards; monitors status of work in progress; inspects completed work assignments; answers questions; gives advice and direction as needed.Assists in budget preparation and monitors and controls expenditures.Represents the department to the public to discuss, explain and coordinate programs and activities.Collects statistical data and prepares reports on demolition, foreclosure, acquisition, and/or leasing-related activities, issues and operations.Represents the department to governmental agencies, professionals, and the public to provide information and answer questions.Creates and/or manages databases to track information on real estate-related projects, operations and activities and recommends solutions to problems.Communicates with community stakeholder groups and community members about real estate programs and projects and other relevant topics.Researches and analyzes causes and effects of programs and projects, including national best practices.Performs related work as assigned.MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSBachelor's Degree in Paralegal/Law, Community Development, Business or Public Administration or related discipline.Three (3) years of real estate, community development, or law experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.PHYSICAL DEMANDSPhysical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.UNAVOIDABLE HAZARDS (WORK ENVIRONMENT)Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.None.SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSESNone.AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT COMPLIANCELouisville Metro Government is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
