About the Agency:

The Virginia Department of Military Affairs State Team provides professional and responsive state support functions to the Adjutant General of Virginia, the Virginia National Guard, the Virginia Air Guard, and the Virginia Defense Force in order to ensure their ability to support and defend the United States and the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Purpose of Position:

The purpose of the position is to maintain the State and Federal real property inventory, perform physical inventories, conduct compliance inspections of out-grants and to assist in acquiring, managing, and disposing of real property for all Virginia Army National Guard facilities and property, in accordance with applicable State and Federal regulations and mandates.

This position is based in Blackstone, Virginia and requires frequent travel within the state, occasionally overnight. Telework is limited to one (1) day per week and is subject to change per DHRM's telework policy.

Minimum Qualifications

Must possess demonstrated ability to set priorities, coordinate work and interpret policy as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills;

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, maps etc. to determine accurate information for real property inventories;

Must have solid computer knowledge and skill in order to maintain inventory;

Working knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS);

Knowledge of planning, construction, administrative and operational programs and services associated with state and / or federal government real property management;

Limited knowledge of commonly applied real estate principles, rules, regulations, practices and applicable Army and National Guard regulations that pertain to the acquisition, maintenance and disposal of real property;

Valid Virginia Driver's License with an acceptable driving record required;

Must be willing to travel within the state on a regular basis, occasionally overnight.

Additional Considerations

Working knowledge of Army Stationing and Installation Plan (ASIP) preferred;

Working knowledge of Real Property Planning & Analysis System (RPLANS), Planning Resource for Infrastructure Development and Evaluation (PRIDE), and Installation Status Reports (ISR) desired.
