Job Description:

Definition & Responsibilities

An incoming inspection, also known as a receiving inspection or material inspection, validates the quality of purchased raw materials based on set acceptance criteria. It is performed by quality assurance personnel in the manufacturing facility to resolve quality issues during pre-production.

  • Review, and accept, or reject material based approved by R&D specifications.

  • Maintain ISO standards of the raw parts and ensure that there is proper handling of inspection tools.

  • Maintain the QA incoming and first article databases.

  • Use gauges and SPC charts to measure the conformance of the parts.

  • Inspect incoming material with micrometers for size and defects.

  • Experience with and ability to operate/use measuring instruments, hand gauges, microscopes, comparators.

  • Require keeping accurate records to ensure ISO compliance and to be prepare for regular ISO audits.

  • Maintain receiving records available and pull when request by auditors and certification agencies.

  • Plant performing internal and external visual and inspections on raw parts.

  • Receive inventory records, process of receiving inspection documents and all other applicable documentation in coordination with the QA department.

  • Used precision tooling (torque wrench, scale, measuring tape, caliper, jigs, multimeter, etc.)

  • Used calipers to measure thickness of boards and measure components purchase from outside vendors to ensure manufacturing accuracy.

  • Utilize standard measuring equipment including digital calipers, dial drop indicators, digital scales and relate devices to verify quality.

  • Inspect close tolerance of incoming material components.

    Requirements:

  • 3 total years of education and experience preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years of technical experience on a similar role.

  • Knowledge of inspection and certification process.

  • Thorough knowledge of quality policies, procedures, and all related technical data.

  • Ability to work within the various software applications utilized throughout the corporation.

  • ESD and IPC-A-610 knowledge a plus.
