This position is responsible for the accurate physical receiving of materials/product to include unloading delivery trucks, matching materials/product received to invoice, maintaining integrity of inventory control, and ensuring the delivery of received materials/product to the proper storage or staging location. This position requires a high degree of accuracy and a sense of urgency, while meeting safe operating standards according to Tryons established guidelines.
Responsibilities
Physically receive all inbound deliveries; unload materials/product from delivery vehicles
Record and check quantity and quality of materials/product received
Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.
Inspect, accept, or reject inbound shipments according to company guidelines
Transports materials on receiving dock to appropriate staging or storage location
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with others in the Company
Maintains safe work environment by following all Company, federal and state regulations
Operates forklift and other power equipment
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
REQUIRED
Ability to lift up to 140lbs
Must be a team player and work well under minimum supervision
Knowledge of safe work practices
Ability to work in a warehouse environment in all types of weather
Ability to work required shift as defined
Available to work overtime as needed
Ability to work within tight time constraints in a fast-paced environment
PREFERRED
High School Diploma or GED
Prior experience as Receiving Clerk or similar position
Prior warehouse or distribution center experience
Prior experience or certification on power equipment (forklift, pallet jack, reach truck)
