Job Title: Receiving ClerkHome Department: Materials Management Reports To: Director- Materials Management Direct Reports: NoneFLSA Classification: Non-ExemptPosition SummaryThis position is responsible for receiving, storing and issuing materials, supplies, and equipment to ordering department in a timely manner. Restocks products in receiving department. Responsible for the PAR Level Systems in the storeroom and throughout the facility, including the adjustment of stock levels as needed.General Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Receives all materials delivered to the facility by various vendors; forwards information pertaining to critical back-order situations to the department leader or to the Purchasing clerk.
  • Ensures all new equipment has electrical safety checks completed by Plant Ops and/or Biomed contractor prior to delivery to ordering department.
  • Verifies container count on all incoming deliveries prior to signing delivery slips. Inspects all packages for possible damage and makes notation of such on courier's delivery slip. Makes note of shortages, and reports such discrepancies to the Purchasing Clerk for resolution with vendors.
  • Properly disburses all materials to various locations in the facility.
  • Reviews and ensures packing slips, freight bills, etc. are attached to a copy of the Receiving report. Files the original Receiving report in the Receiving department.
  • Conducts inventory cycle counts of selected items weekly; responsible for checking and re-stocking the crash carts after use; makes corrections, deletions and adjustments to quantities of materials stocked in Par bins in Nursing departments.
  • Restocks utilizing proper rotation (FIFO), organization, identification and proper location of stock items.
  • Follows standard precautions and uses equipment safely and appropriately.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all department data and activities.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in work schedules.
  • Complies with all established safety procedures to ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors and staff.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements
  • High School diploma/Equivalent combination of education and experience required
Experience Requirements
  • Shipping/receiving, inventory control, and supply requisition minimum 2 years preferred
Computer Skills
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Outlook
Additional Skills
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize and complete tasks in a timely manner
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
