The Receiving Clerk leads and organizes the receiving and storage of all food items and non-food items for the Miraval restaurants/kitchens. Essential Functions:
  • Receive and put away all deliveries in coordination with the purchasing team for the Miraval kitchens.
  • Primary focus being Harvest Moon restaurant with 1894 restaurant and Sloane's Tavern also being within their purview/focus.
  • Check for food safety of food items being delivered and confer with the Chef on duty on a daily basis.
  • Maintain organization and ensure cleanliness of the walk-in refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage for the restaurants at the Miraval.
  • Receive and maintain organization of all restaurant china/smallwares and maintain an inventory china/smallwares on hand.
  • Receive and maintain proper storage and organization of all kitchen banquet equipment.
  • Ensure loading dock area of the kitchens is always clean, rinsed off, and safe from slip hazards.
  • Ensure all cardboard and boxed items received in is neatly recycled.
  • Review departmental requisitions on a daily basis and organize for expedient fulfillment and delivery.
  • Ensure all food storage areas including refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage are prepared for a health inspection at all times.
  • Ensure temperature logs for all refrigerators and freezers is completed daily.
  • Assist culinary team with event set ups.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to successfully manager multiple and competing priorities
  • Self-sufficient in their work
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively connect with diverse groups and individuals
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE This person must have a minimum of 1-year prior restaurant experience preferably in a hotel/resort environment. Prior retail warehousing experience is also recommended. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to read and interpret retail product labeling. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
