**Job Purpose:**
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for safe, accurate counts of goods/merchandise received daily.
**Duties:**
* Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipts.
* Unload packages from incoming trucks.
* Inspect product for damages upon arrival and verify they meet temperatures requires by FSMA regulations.
* Verify packages according to purchase order.
* Keep work area clean and organized.
* Segregate product as required per warehouse storage needs.
* Follow sanitation and proper food handling procedures.
* Must be safety / security conscious, adhere to guidelines in the safety manual and report any accidents or incidents to the manager immediately.
* Be knowledgeable and follow company policy procedures.
* Stand for long periods of time.
* Other duties as assigned.
**Skills / Qualifications**
A solid understanding of warehouse distribution procedures processes. The person will on occasion operate various types of warehouse equipment such as stand-up forklifts, riding pallet jack, hand carts, and cardboard bailing machine. The ability to lift up to 30-50 lbs. consistently and stand for long periods of time is required. The candidate will also be required to perform in other areas as needed. Must have the ability to multitask, plan, and forecast production requirements.
**Physical Requirements:**
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, and twist; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects and controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and talk and hear. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Environmental conditions include heat, cold, allergen, noise, and fume/chemical/odor exposure from gasoline and cleaning chemicals.
