Title: Receiving Clerk Location: Upper East Side Org Unit: Receiving Work Days: Weekdays and some weekends Weekly Hours: 35.00 Exemption Status: Non-Exempt Salary Range: $20.33 - $24.29 *As required under NYC Human Rights Law Int 1208-2018 - Salary range for this role when Hired for NYC Offices Position Summary Under direct supervision, is responsible for the operational and day-to-day activities of the receiving area and performs various mailroom/clerical duties Job Responsibilities

  • Answers phones, responds to inquiries and triages calls to appropriate personnel.
  • Sorts all received mail, packages, or correspondence by recipients' location and/or department.
  • Receives, signs and logs all incoming packages from delivery services and courier services.
  • Delivers packages to recipients.
  • May perform custodial or entry level mechanic functions as needed.

Experience Previous experience in a receiving operations or related areas within a large complex organization Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills.
Licenses and CertificationsWorking Conditions/Physical Demands Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, early mornings and/or late nights; Position requires working in a non-office environment where there are some physical discomforts such as noise, dust, heat, fumes and other elements which are continuously present; Work is performed both indoors and outdoors; Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry or otherwise move objects weighing a minimum of 80 pounds and push/pull objects up to 150 pounds; Position requires the utilization of various hand carts, lifts, jacks to perform duties Weill Cornell Medicine is a comprehensive academic medical center that is committed to excellence in patient care, scientific discovery, and the education of future physicians and scientists in New York City and around the world.
