Job Description:
Summary of positionThe receiving clerk is primarily responsible for the maintenance of information for items received, performing cycle counts and shortage payments. Essential functions To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Read and understand bills of material
  • Meet the truck when freight is delivered and check for damages and match freight with packing lists and bill of lading.
  • Receive and unload all incoming freight.
  • Tag and date freight with appropriate tag (PR# or part#)
  • Take purchase orders and packing lists and log in freight/inventory computer.
  • Print and check the receiving report after freight/inventory has been input into the computer and coordinate with Buyer at the end of the day.
  • Operate forklifts and freight jacks to unload and move freight and parts.
  • Stock shelves.
  • Move or transport material or supplies to other departments.
  • Read and understand packing slips, Purchase Orders (PO's)
  • Read and understand parts book
  • Pick bills by using the packing list and get the parts from the shelves for the jobs.
  • Pull tools and check out to production.
  • Call for parts that need to be expedited.
  • Attend work as outlined in Employee Handbook and/or specified by your supervisor.
  • Complete other tasks as directed by supervisor.
  • Comply with government regulations, laws, company policies and company procedures.
Desired qualificationsEducation: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).Experience: 1-3 years. Knowledge of parts. Skills: Ability to use Microsoft product software. Self-motivated. Effective oral and written communication skills. Multi-tasking abilities. Must have basic computer skills. Basic math skills are required and the employee must also have the ability to recognize basic angle measures (45, 90, 180, 270, 360)Certificates, licenses or training: Forklift licenseInteraction with othersAnswers to Production Scheduling & Stockroom Manager. Must be able to accurately receive and understand instructions from supervisor to determine if further instruction is required before attempting to complete the task assigned. In constant communication with other departments (Purchasing, production, etc.). It is essential that the employee is able to work with all employees of the RAE team and shows a spirit of cooperation with others in the organization.Working environmentWork is performed in an industrial production area for a manufacturer of refrigeration and HVAC equipment. The employee is constantly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is high in some areas. Exposed to extreme temperatures in both winter and summer. Possible stress caused by the pressure of meeting deadlines and product quality standards.
