Job Description:
JOB TITLE: Receiving ClerkNon-Exempt PositionREPORTS TO: Warehouse SupervisorDEPARTMENT: Warehouse BASIC FUNTION:Receive, inspect, and record shipments with raw material or products. Responsible for unloading packages and checking their contents to ensure they match the orders.GENERAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Accurately matches product received order and verifies order for accuracy.
  • Receive shipments and sign paperwork upon receipt.
  • Unload packages from incoming trucks.
  • Inspect contents to ensure they are undamaged.
  • Verify packages according to order and invoices (quantity, quality, price, etc.)
  • Report damages or shortages to the supervisor.
  • Record receiving data in the company databases.
  • Label deliveries and allocate them to their designated place.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist in inventory control.
  • Keep work area orderly, clean, and safe.
  • Must exhibit interpersonal skills sufficient to perform as an active team member.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have a high school diploma or acceptable equivalent.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • A minimum of two years of receiving experience preferred.
  • Basic math and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with data entry and computer skills.
  • Must be able to safely operate tow motor and other material handling equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand frequently, walk frequently and sit rarely.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
  • Conduct all interaction with customers, representatives, co-workers, and supervisors in a focused, positive, courteous, and respectful manner.
  • Regular attendance is an essential element of the job. Unplanned absences have the potential to impair the operation of the department and diminish effectiveness of the company.
