Our client is an American company engaged in the development of hydrogen fuel cell systems that replace conventional batteries in equipment and vehicles powered by electricity. Seeking an Incoming Inspection Technician to join our clients employee-centric company as we continue to lead the Hydrogen Revolution. You will be responsible for performing inspection activities, including visual, physical, and dimensional of machined, electro-mechanical, and other components according to client or customer requirements and specifications.Core Duties & Responsibilities:
- Working with complex blueprints, assembly prints and specifications, visually and mechanically inspects parts, subassemblies and assemblies on all company products to ensure conformance to production specifications and quality standards.
- Knowledge, understanding and programming of CMM/3-D scanning equipment.
- Performs functional and dimensional inspection of various types of complex parts using precision measuring instruments and tools and gauges (e.g., micrometers, gauges, calipers, etc.) to determine conformance to applicable specification standards.
- Interact with Supply Chain/Quality Engineering on inspection system projects such as automating data collection, implementing SPC and gage R&R.
- Responsible for first piece validation, complex incoming, in-process, final floor or bench inspection on a wide variety of mechanical/electrical parts and products. Generates Quality Control documents as required.
- Determines the best method of inspecting new or unusual parts. Plans, sets up and performs the most complex mechanical inspections by devising necessary gauging or measuring setups and/or making adaptations to inspection equipment or fixtures.
- Verification that inspection equipment used to take measurements can detect defects.
- Verification that inspection methodology is adequate per drawing intent.
- You will resolve misunderstanding of product specifications and tolerances.
- You will ensure manufacturing documentation is accurate and complete before the release process.
- You will communicate with sourcing department, engineering teams, and vendors about vendor created quality issues and the impacts on cost and scheduling.
Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree from an accredited university and a minimum of 1 year of prior relevant experience or High School diploma and a minimum of 3 years of prior relevant experience.
- Prior relevant experience - experience in inspection and a technical environment related to required skill sets.
- Understanding of Industry and Quality concepts and standards such as ISO, GMP, A2L2 and NIST.
- Proficiency with office computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong Math, mechanical and writing skills.
- Basic organizational and time management skills.
- Basic interpersonal skills to interact with all stakeholders.
- Knowledge of blueprint reading/Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance (GD&T).
- Ability to program and operate CMM/3-D scanner and/or optical comparator (preferred).
