FLSA:Non- ExemptDepartment:MaterialsJob Title:Receiving InspectorReports To:Materials Supervisor DOT/ NON- DOT:NON-DOTSchedule:1st Shift, 7:00am - 3:30pmPosition Summary The Receiving Inspector performs hands on and visual, dimensional inspections of incoming parts and materials, assessing compliance with standards, specifications and control drawings. Reads and complies with instructions and safety information as necessary for proper and safe completion of assigned work. Systemically and physically performs work in accordance with Flightstar's RS/QCM, FAA Regulations, and the Customer's GMM. Job Duties and Responsibilities 1 Performs inspection of incoming aircraft parts and materials in accordance with applicable standards, specifications, and control drawings when applicable. 2 Performs both visual and dimensional inspections properly and accurately. 3 Enters data into the computer system in a timely manner. 4 Identifies and separates non-compliant items for return. 5 Uses micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments and test equipment in the performance of receiving inspection work. 6 Files and retrieves parts certifications in a timely manner. 7 Prepares necessary records such as inspection documentation, logs, rejection reports or other records thoroughly, legibly, and in a timely manner. 8 Interprets technical data, certificates, and 8130-3. 9 Researches and retrieves technical data as necessary. 10 Maintains an updated, current knowledge of technical information and inspection techniques and requirements through adequate research and technical reading. 11 Reads instructions and safety information, follows safety procedures, and wears and utilizes appropriate safety equipment for the work being performed. 12 Communicates effectively in English regarding work activities, per FAA requirements. 13 Interfaces with Purchasing to resolve certification issues. 14 Performs other duties as assigned. Must obtain all Regulatory, Customer and Flightstar required mandatory qualifications and training. x Languages Must be fluent in spoken and written English. Spanish a plus x Special Licenses FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate in good standing. x Previous Experience Minimum of three (3) years of aircraft maintenance experience on aircraft types consistent with those serviced by Flightstar, providing knowledge of inspection and measurement techniques, related work techniques, terminology, parts, etc. x Technical Skills Position requires proficiency in software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. The Receiving Inspector will perform daily functions in FAS operating system as well as the customer's inventory management systems. x
