Job Description:
Receiving Inspector Grade 5 The Receiving Inspector located in our Global Headquarters reports to our Plant Supervisor and is responsible for inspection of Michigan City receiving product for Michigan City Assembly, New Product Lines, and Resale incoming final product Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Perform dimension and visual inspection of incoming components and assemblies to specified prints, procedures and specifications using standard sampling techniques.
  • Verify product count matching the product purchase order.
  • Maintain appropriate History Cards, Prints and Certifications for each appropriate product received.
  • Verify appropriate material certification for adequacy where requested by print or for RoHS compliance.
  • Create and process Defective Material Reports (DMR) for all nonconforming products found during inspection and record appropriately.
  • Perform visual inspections of resale product per established method and/or inspection procedure using standard sampling techniques.
  • Perform dimensional inspections of resale product as required by part print and/or inspection procedure using standard sampling techniques.
  • Verify product count matches Purchase Order or Sales Order.
  • Maintain appropriate History Cards, Prints and Certifications for each appropriate final product received.
  • Verify appropriate material certification for adequacy where requested by print or for RoHS compliance.
  • Create and process Defective Material Reports (DMR) for all nonconforming products found during inspection and record appropriately.
  • Perform computer transaction moving product from receiving location to stock location and physically transfer product to Finished Goods warehouse.
  • Perform necessary resale product inspections, as assigned, resulting from customer complaints or discovered final product issues.

Requirements Required Skills / Experience / Equipment Operation:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Previous inspection experience a plus.
  • Must possess ability to interpret blueprints, use simple inspection equipment and read and follow standard quality procedures.
  • Must understand and be able to follow sampling techniques.
  • Must be capable of working independently with little direct supervision as well as demonstrate good leadership capabilities.
  • Must possess organizational and planning ability.
  • Must have practical work experience with personal computers, especially word processing, database and spreadsheets. Familiarity with electronics is a plus.
