Summary:Tramec Continental Aero, located in Alsip, Illinois, is a leading fastener distribution company primarily dealing with internally threaded fasteners. The Receiving Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the Receiving Department, and freight put-away. With a hands-on approach, your goal will be to increase operational efficiencies, promote and enforce a safe work environment, and to determine the acceptability of product through quality inspections.Managerial Responsibilities:
  • Assists in Hiring and training front-line employees.
  • Organizes, directs, and oversees the schedules and work of front-line employees.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations. Informally
  • Assist in handling discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with other managers to coordinate activities in and among departments.
  • Scheduling and work assignments
  • Create Put-Away spreadsheets for all inbound product
  • Assists in performing quality inspection for all inbound shipments
  • Weigh and wrap pallets
  • Load and unload trailers and containers
  • Inventory Control - Product placement in locations
  • Maintains and keeps a clean and organized dock area.
  • Collects, evaluates, analyzes, and assesses Receiving data.
  • Regularly inspects and evaluates products for quality and defects.
  • Identifies and corrects problems and inefficiencies in process, materials, equipment, or skills.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices including those related to safety and health.
  • Develops and implements procedures and strategies to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Collaborates with other departmental managers to develop and execute budget.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of safety and health laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Thorough understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, cost management, and other effective manufacturing and distribution techniques.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Experienced forklift operator on sit-down, stand-up, and stockpikers.
Education and Experience:
  • Associate's degree in related field, or equivalent industry work experience required.
  • At least two years of supervisory experience highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the warehouse.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on computers.
  • Must be able to lift 45 pounds at times.
  • Visual acuity to inspect products and machinery.
