Receiving Warehouse Operations Manager - 1st Shift

The Receiving Warehouse Operations Manager (1st shift) will oversee daily operations at Serena & Lily's distribution center. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient, safe, and high-quality operation of the warehouse, aligning with core company values such as safety, quality, and leadership. The ideal candidate will manage a team, streamline processes, and contribute to meeting both operational and customer service goals.
Schedule: first shift, 5am - 1:30pm M-F (flexibility to work holidays and weekends)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Leadership & Team Management
* Hire, train, and mentor new and existing warehouse employees.
* Schedule and discipline staff as needed while adhering to policies and procedures.
* Promote a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Operational Planning & Execution
* Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve operational objectives.
* Prepare and implement production and quality plans based on customer service standards.
* Optimize workflows for purchase order processing, product handling, and put-away.
Shipping & Inventory Management
* Ensure timely and accurate receiving of containers while controlling costs.
* Oversee the creation and implementation of receiving policies and procedures.
* Monitor inventory levels, manage product flow, and resolve capacity issues.
* Ensure compliance with lead time goals, reducing out-of-stock and damaged goods.
Financial & Budget Oversight
* Contribute to the preparation of annual budgets, monitoring expenditures, and addressing variances.
* Drive operational efficiency while ensuring budget adherence.
Safety & Compliance
* Maintain a safe working environment in compliance with legal requirements and company standards.
* Lead safety meetings, enforce safety standards, and actively manage risk.
* Ensure warehouse operations comply with federal, state, and company regulations.
Cross-Departmental Collaboration
* Work closely with internal departments (Shipping, Returns, Inventory.) to streamline processes.
* Collaborate with peers and leadership teams to resolve issues and improve performance.
* Be flexible and perform other roles in the warehouse as necessary (e.g., shipping, picking, packing, etc.).
Continuous Improvement & Training
* Implement ongoing training and cross-training programs to enhance team flexibility and readiness.
* Encourage the adoption of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma) across all operations.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience
* Minimum of 5 years managing cross-dock operations with a focus on inbound container receipts.
* Previous experience leading teams of 50+ employees in a warehouse or logistics environment.
* Strong knowledge and experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Education/Certifications
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience (10+ years in a relevant warehouse or logistics role).
* Certification in Six Sigma or other continuous improvement programs is required.
Technical Skills
* Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
* Ability to create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and deliver presentations to leadership.
* Forklift certification or ability to be certified.
Physical Requirements
* The role requires standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, and occasionally sitting or climbing.
* Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds, with occasional lifting up 80 pounds.
* Must be able to operate at heights (up to 35 feet) and perform tasks involving a variety of physical activities.

COMPENSATION:
* $65-85k per year is the anticipated starting base pay for this role. This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this role. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: experience, education, and skills.
