JOB SUMMARYThe Receiving Supervisor is responsible for the general cleanliness and maintenance of the building, assigned grounds, storage areas, and associated equipment and is the lead in the dish room. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSReceives and checks incoming stock for accuracy of amount and quality using vendors' invoice and departmental receiving orderFollows receiving procedures to ensure food safety guidelines are being adhered to, i.e. temperature, packaging, date range, etc. When necessary, assists in loading and unloading of all trucksParticipates in assigned cleaning and maintenance of storage areas, coolers, and freezers to ensure they are kept in a neat and orderly condition. Assures that proper procedures are followedUnpack supplies, dates and stores all stock in proper storage area. Rotates stock, using first in/first out principle to ensure freshnessDelivers equipment, food items, and supplies to various locations using a box truckAssists as directed with performing inventoryDoes minor repairs as necessaryAssists with setups for minor functionsAssists where needed to cover absences and breaks for other employeesCommunicates daily with management concerning general unit conditions or concernsMust attend food safety training as scheduledWorks with management to develop and follow cleaning schedule and preventative maintenance schedule for the operation and equipmentHelps to train staff in dish room operations and acts as a leader in this area when not receiving. This includes dish machine and garbage disposalAssists in snow removal around loading dock, dumpster and other areas around the building as necessaryResponsible for minor repairs such as changing lightbulbsPerform other duties as assigned EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEHigh school graduate or equivalent; previous janitorial or maintenance experience; Experience in supervising and instructing personnel; Follow written and verbal instructions; Ability to operate all machinery and equipment necessary to the job; Must be able to multi-task. Must possess a valid drivers license. PHYSICAL CONDITIONS AND DEMANDSHeavy lifting, up to 50 lbs.; constant standing, bending, and walking; exposure to temperature extremes, slippery surfaces, congested work areas, and potentially dangerous equipment, tools and machinery; exposure to various types of food and chemicals.
