Offering more than 100 certificate, associate and bachelor's degree programs, Daytona State College (DSC) has responded to the education and workforce training needs in our region for more than 60 years. The college enrolls nearly 25,000 students annually at its seven instructional sites, with graduates serving in critical fields including health care, emergency services, business, education, hospitality, engineering, technology and more.

We currently have an opportunity to join our team of talented and diverse Faculty and Staff as a Manager I.

Required Qualifications: This position requires a bachelor's degree in Education, International Studies, or closely related field with over two (2) years of related experience.

Desired Qualifications: TESOL certification preferred. Bilingual preferred.

Working Hours: This position requires a flexible schedule due to evening classes held at off sites and DSC campuses. Classes are held 9:00 a.m. - 12 noon and 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This position will travel to all College campuses as needed to perform work related duties and evaluate departmental activities and events .

The salary is $42,900.

**Key Responsibilities:

**

  • Managerial: In concert with Adult Education Director, responsible for staff supervision, oversee ESOL budgets, and development and implementation of Adult Education policies and procedures. Attends and/or conducts staff meeting to exchange information; coordinate with Adult Education Transition Specialist and Adult Education Coordinator to ensure services across the program, helps in the development, coordination, and facilitation of IET programming and other programming for area of responsibility. Responsible for setting and tracking an ESOL enrollment goal. Attends professional seminars or conferences.
  • Instructor Facing: In concert with the Adult Education Director, select, vet, hire and schedule ESOL adjunct professors. Work with adjunct professors to help troubleshoot classroom needs such as instruction materials, equipment, and other supportive services as needed to facilitate programs. Research and communicate professional development and training opportunities to adjunct professors and track engagement.
  • Student Facing: Assist all school of Adult Education students in various ways such as career exploration, advising, registering for classes, assisting with tuition process and other student facing task as assigned.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Working jointly with the AE Manager and Institutional Research (IR), prepare and maintain data for various reports, records, and/or programs. Assist in data analysis and reporting for grant performance measures.
  • Community Outreach: Promote available programs, activities, and projects by preparing and/or participating in the preparation of recruitment materials and other correspondences, travel within the local communities where programs are offered to create and maintain community partnerships.
  • Grant Research: Research grant opportunities and other funds available for ESOL program and students. Participates in grant writing activities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The successful candidate must have excellent organizational skills, interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to develop and meet goals as required. Applicant must also have knowledge of computers, peripherals, and software programs such as Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Applicant must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and be flexible in order to match the demands of the College. Must be able to take direction as well as work effectively and professionally on their own.

Qualifications: • Review incoming receipts multiple times a day and add required items to Receiving Inspection Hot List• Review multiple times a day all material received into stock for back-order requirements and issue picklists to fill demand as required.• Review New Spares Orders for earliest possible delivery, adjust order lead time as necessary.• Review Material requisitions and issue picklists for materials on hand, create and release purchase requisitions for out-of-stock items, enter anticipated arrival date in note field.• Review supply/demand for spares and Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) orders, release picklists to fill demand.• Reserve miscellaneous piece parts to customer orders and print picklists to fill demand.• Collaborate with production control on releasing shop orders for spares and MRO demands.• Coordinate inter-company transfers and facilitate material movement between projects.• Process or remove Material Transfer Requisitions (MTR's) to retransfer from job to job within Planned Netting Group.• Enter approved Project Miscellaneous Demands (PMD's).• Review and release Purchase Requisitions.
