In this role you will:
* Schedule appointments via online scheduling system.
* Verify and update demographic and insurance data in the computer.
* Consistently check voice mail and forward messages to the appropriate staff.
* Continually monitor appointment schedule, acknowledge appointments, and change appointment status when necessary.
* Monitor Waiting Room to insure patients are being taken care of in a timely manner.
* Responsible for contacting and rescheduling patients when behavioral provider is out of the office.
* Ensures proper use of all office equipment (fax, copier, PC, e-mail, practice management software, printers, phones, voicemail, etc.) in accordance with office policy.
The successful applicant will offer:
* History of good attendance and positive work attitude towards co-workers and other health center departments.
* High School Graduate or equivalent.
* Graduate of secretarial program preferred.
* Medical Terminology course completed within one year of hire.
* English / Spanish bilingual ability is required.
* Demonstrated ability to work within a team and to effectively support team goals and objectives.
* Pleasant telephone manner; good memory and patience.
* Strong organizational skills with demonstrated proficiency in computer applications (Microsoft Office)
