Our full-service network provides a variety of Primary Care & Priority Care Services, including Family, Internal, Geriatric, and Pediatric Medicine, in addition to several specialties to deliver custom care based on the unique needs of our patients.

**Responsibilities**

he Certified Medication Aide must be registered on the Medication Aide Registry. To be a Certified Medication Aide in any setting, the individual must pass a competency test. A competency test includes written questions and/or the demonstration of skills needed to provide medications. The testing will be done by different individuals in various work settings. To work in a nursing facility, the Certified Medication Aide must complete 40 hours of training. If the trainee is required to take a course in order to be a Certified Medication Aide in a particular work setting, the initial test will be given by the Department.

Performs service procedures and treatments within scope of practice for state and per facility licensure and policy. Performs these activities as assigned:

-Understands and practices confidentiality of information about the patient

-Recognizes the patients right to refuse medication.

-Follows current standards of hygiene when handling medications.

-Follows safe handling, storage, and disposal of medications.

-Recognizes and reports unsafe conditions for medication provision.

-Accurately documents medication provision.

-Recognizes and reports general reactions to medications.

-Recognizes the limitations of the Medication Aide role.

-Recognizes and knows how to report suspected adult abuse and neglect, and suspected

child abuse.

-Recognizes the recipients property rights and physical boundaries.

**Qualifications**

**Experience**

Previous experience in a medical setting preferred. Successful completion of a State of Nebraska approved Medication Aide course.

**Education/Licensure**

High school graduate or equivalent with specialized training in typing, transcription, medical terminology and record keeping is preferred.

**Required:**

Must be on the Nebraska Health and Human Services Registry as a Certified Medication Aide (40 hour course).

BLS or BLS instructor certification is required upon hire from the American Heart Association

**Pay Range**

$15.88 - $21.83 /hour
