Job Posting Dates: October 8 - 18thJob Title: Receptionist (Part-time)Receptionist, Part-time, AfternoonsThe National Children's Advocacy Center (NCAC) is seeking a friendly, dependable, and organized receptionist with excellent customer service skills to assist visitors and receive calls related to child abuse prevention and intervention services.About the roleAs a member of our team in Huntsville, AL, you will be responsible for handling the front desk and lobby area of the main community building on campus including providing a positive first impression and professional greeting and welcome for all visitors and callers. Some of our guests will be facing challenging situations and will require additional assistance and patience. This position also provides prompt, courteous service to staff and assists with various clerical tasks. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. This position works in partnership with the morning Receptionist.A typical day may include:
  • Answering, screening, and transferring phone calls
  • Providing a friendly and courteous greeting to clients and visitors
  • Connecting visitors to the appropriate staff member
  • Scheduling meetings, events, and gatherings via Microsoft Outlook or MS Teams
  • Assisting with on-site clerical tasks, projects, and programs
  • Communicating with vendors and couriers
  • Sorting & delivering incoming mail to appropriate mailboxes
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two years' office experience or an equivalent combination of clerical and computer experience or related training
  • Strongly prefer previous receptionist experience in a social service organization
  • Prefer additional experience or training in clerical and computer skills
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but not required
Location and HoursOur standard business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 5:00. This position will work Monday through Friday from 12:30 to 5:00 in the lobby of our Community Services Building in Huntsville, AL.About the NCACThe NCAC revolutionized the United States' response to child sexual and physical abuse and other forms of child maltreatment.
