Overview:

Title: Receptionist, RED HOOK COMMUNITY CENTER BEACON @ PS 15 (part-time)

Reports to: Program Director

Location: 71 Sullivan Street, Brooklyn NY 11231

Hours: 18 Hours/Week; Non-Exempt

Tuesday - Friday (6pm to 9:30pm)

Saturday (11am - 5pm)

Salary: $21.97 - $24.72 / hr

The Receptionist will helps create a welcoming culture by greeting guests professionally and warmly. The front desk person will also support the smooth running of the facility by providing administrative support to the Center.

Major Duties:

  • Create a welcoming environment for youth, families, staff and visitors alike.
  • Greet and announce participants and guests upon arrival and direct them to the appropriate program or service.
  • Maintain electronic and/or paper sign-in process.
  • Answer and direct all incoming calls to appropriate staff.
  • Assist in the registration of program participants.
  • Provide clerical support to center Directors including data entry, class registration, updating documents, etc.
  • Assist as needed during special program and agency events including outreach, mailings, etc.
  • Manage center calendar
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED and minimum 1-year office experience required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Must have the ability to interact in a positive and courteous manner with families, GSS
