General Role and Responsibilities:The recess aide will provide supervision and monitoring of the cafeteria and playground activities under the direction of the principal and assistant principal at a K-6 elementary school.General Skills and Qualifications:High school diploma or GED EquivalentAbility to respectfully work with children and adultsAble to pass a required background checkSpecific Responsibilities in This Position:Follow the stated expectations of the Principal and Assistant PrincipalEstablish and enforce an orderly process for arrival/dismissal of lunch/recessCommunicate serious student infractions/concerns with teachers/administratorsEncourage safe and positive play and cooperationAssist students with any medical/emergency situations in the cafeteria/at recessServe as a model of conflict-resolutionPerform all other duties assigned by the Principal and Assistant PrincipalSpecific Skills and Knowledge for this position:Ability to self-regulate emotions and model respectful behavior and languageCooperate with other recess aides and work as a teamMaintain in strict confidence all student informationHave knowledge of student code of conduct and consequencesPersonal Attributes Desired:DependabilityHonestyPunctualityHigh level of personal accountabilityAbility to accept positive and constructive criticismPhysical Requirements:Ability to perform physical duties both indoors and outdoorsGood physical health and ability to perform assigned dutiesAbility to move freely without assistance and be mobile for several hours#J-18808-Ljbffr
