Required Minimum Qualifications:- Three years clerical office experience or any combination of general post high school education in an accredited school and clerical experience which totals four years from which comparable knowledge can be acquired.

Preferred Qualifications:Experience working in the processing unit of a college, operations unit of a college, university Admissions, or Registrar's office.

Experience evaluating secondary and/or post-secondary transcripts.

Familiarity with institutional and collegiate policies, procedures, and guidelines related to student admissions.

Proficiency with business process management/workflow software and Microsoft Office products.

Job Description:

The Office of Admissions at Iowa State University is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Record Analyst I to support Admissions Operations. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating undergraduate admissions applications, reviewing academic transcripts, and determining if courses meet admissions or transfer credit requirements based on university policies. You will use sound judgment in unique cases, analyze data to make informed recommendations, and provide excellent customer service to students, staff, and faculty. Strong organizational skills, adaptability, and a willingness to learn are essential. This position offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to the university's enrollment goals and work within a collaborative team environment.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities

- Analyzes student academic records and evaluates student applications for admission.

- Makes decisions regarding student records based upon written and interpreted collegiate policy.

- Consults with and advises students concerning their admission/application issues.

- Performs basic data studies as requested by an administrator.

- Reviews current procedures within area of assignment and recommends procedural changes as required.

- Maintains computer files and compiles lists and other data for periodic and special reports.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Knowledge of institutional and collegiate policies and guidelines relative to student admission, transfer, and graduation.

- Skill in utilizing computer software and online systems.

- Skill in operating office equipment.

- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, students, and the public.

- Ability to make decisions requiring interpretation and judgment.

- Ability to follow oral and written instructions and interpret institutional and other policies accurately.

- Ability to gather and analyze data and display in appropriate format and keep accurate records.

- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
