Johnson County Iowa |Johnson County Iowa| Iowa City, IA |Iowa City, IA| Part-time |Part-time| $21.06 - $25.27 an hour |$21.06 - $25.27 an hour| 2 days ago | 2 days ago |2 days ago| Definition & Duties Under supervision and in accordance with Iowa law, prepare digital and text transcripts of Johnson County Board of Supervisors' (Board) proceedings and other meetings as assigned, support Confidential Administrative Secretary by attending and recording Board meetings and other meetings as needed maintaining strict confidentiality when appropriate or required, meet assigned deadlines in preparing minutes, legal publications, and minute books. Other office duties may be assigned. Knowledge of & Ability to Minute taking practices Recordkeeping and filing systems Basic office practices English language to include grammar, spelling, sentence structure, vocabulary, punctuation and proofreading skills Minimum Education, Training & Experience & Special Requirements Associate's degree with coursework in English/office management/political science or related area and one year clerical experience OR any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Experience in government office and/or minute taking preferred. Special requirements: Valid driver's license and insurable under county liability coverage. May require use of personal vehicle for official county business. Specific Duties SPECIFIC DUTIES: to be performed satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. Edit digital recordings of formal and informal Board of Supervisors' meetings to identify speakers and summarize comments. Prepare draft files of formal and informal Board meeting minutes per Iowa Code and to include a fair, unbiased, and factual representation of viewpoints exchanged, whether on or off the agenda. Serve as back-up for basic duties of the Confidential Administrative Secretary. Assemble and index Minute Books and Ordinance Books. File contracts, agreements, and bids. Scan, upload and enter data in searchable index fields in the document management software. Answer and route telephone, email, and in-person inquiries to the appropriate people. Perform assigned tasks to assist with elections. Participate in work related meetings and training as required. Perform all work duties and activities in accordance with County and departmental policies, procedures, collective bargaining agreement, and safety practices.
